Nicotinell TTS-20 14MG (OTC)

Nicotinell patches can help you to stop smoking. Nicotine passes from the patch through your skin and into the body, replacing the nicotine you would normally get from smoking. These patches are available in three sizes and strengths so ensure you choose the most suitable patch for your stage of smoking cessation. As your body adjusts to not smoking you should gradually reduce the size of the patch over a period of up to 12 weeks until you no longer need to use them. These step 2 patches are suitable for smokers of less than 20 cigarettes a day to start with or for heavy smokers who have completed step 1 of this programme. If you smoke fewer than 20 cigarettes a day, start with a 14 mg patch every day for 3-8 weeks. If you started with the 21 mg patch, switch to the 14 mg patch after 3-4 weeks. Keep using the 14mg patch every day for another 3-4 weeks.

Directions For Use

For external use only.
Adults:
Apply 1 patch at the same time each day (preferably first thing in the morning) to a clean, dry and hairless area of the skin.
Recommended areas are the front or side of the chest, the back or the upper arm.
Leave the patch on for 24 hours, then remove and dispose of before applying the next patch.

Storage

Do not store above 25°C.

Product Specific Warnings

This product is not suitable for non-smokers or occasional smokers.
If you need advice before starting to use this smoking cessation product, talk to a doctor or pharmacist.
You are more likely to quit smoking when using this product with help from your pharmacist, doctor, a trained counsellor or a support programme.
You must not smoke whilst using these patches.
Do not use this product if you have serious heart disease or have had a recent stroke.
The Nicotinell Patch Programme usually lasts for 3 months. If you have not stopped smoking by the end of the 3 month treatment period consult your doctor or pharmacist.
